We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension
handles and how.
Data We Do Not Collect
ScrollMinder does not:
Collect or transmit any personally identifiable information
Track your browsing history or the pages you visit
Send any data to external servers or third parties
Use analytics, advertising, or tracking services
Data Stored Locally
All data is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's built-in
chrome.storage.local API. It never leaves your browser. This includes:
Settings — your chosen activity threshold and reminder delay
Session data — the intention text you type and a timestamp, used only
to display your last response in the popup and schedule a follow-up reminder
UI state — whether the settings or session panel is collapsed in the popup
Session data is automatically deleted after 2 hours. You can also clear it at any time
using the "Reset Session" button in the extension popup.
Permissions
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely for core functionality:
storage — to save your settings and session data locally
activeTab — to communicate with the current tab's content script
tabs — to track per-tab reminder timers and close a tab on request
Host permissions (Twitter/X, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
— to run the content script on supported social media sites only
